Experience
Before starting the firm, Mr. Newman was an associate attorney with the firm of Helwig, Henderson, Newman & Spinola, LLP where he practiced primarily matrimonial law and family law from 2009 to March of 2013. During law school, Mr. Newman worked at a commercial litigation firm in Miami, Florida, and also clerked at the Supreme Court, Nassau County, for the Honorable Joseph P. Spinola.

Mr. Newman believes that the most important service that he provides is education for his clients. By explaining to every client how the law relates to his or her case, and the potential for different legal strategies and outcomes, he provides his clients with the ability to understand the potential benefits and risks associated with every action available to them.

He believes that it is his job to educate and advise, but ultimately, the client gets to make their own educated decisions, each and every step of the way throughout their case.

Edward Williams brings over 30 years of environmental and land use legal experience to his practice. With a primary focus on environmental litigation in state and federal court, as well as the Office of Administrative Law, his experience is extensive, largely focusing on pre-trial litigation, trial discovery, and courtroom advocacy.
Attorney General Edward Williams represented the New York Department of Environmental Protection. He regularly uses his regulatory experience in advising property owners, industrial operators, gas station owners, dry cleaner operators, and many other companies, individuals, and governments of their environmental compliance responsibilities and issues.

• Prevented assumption of responsibility for mass tort litigation with the potential to bankrupt client. Defended same client against product defect action, winning not guilty verdict in highly publicized jury trial.
• Settled manufacturing plant explosion damages claim of $50M for less than 5% of claim amount.
• Managed litigation strategy that resulted in drug manufacturing client being the sole defendant to obtain early dismissal from large antitrust action against 6 companies.
